Insecurity: APC has failed Nigerians – Solomon Dalung
A senior member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Minister in the Buhari administration, Barr. Solomon Dalung said ruling APC had failed to deliver on its campaign promises to Nigerians.
Mr Dalung said in an interview with BBC Hausa that improving security was a major promose of the party to Nigerians, but giving deteriorating security situation, especially in the north, the APC has no bright future, and has no eyes to look at the people of the country with. He added that the deteriorating security situation has thrown the lives of the people into misery and fear as travelling in the north has become a nightmare because people have to include prayer and fasting before they embark on a journey.
According to him “Suppose in the north, you have to pay gunmen before you can farm. If you finish farming you have to pay again before you can harvest. We have never been in such a situation This government we have formed, has not met the needs of Nigerians. It is our government but now if the government is not right, it is our responsibility to go out and fight because we have done it to others yesterday, so let’s do it to ourselves today”.
The former minister said. Dalung further said the APC has no further because “now the party as whole has been disbanded. It has no members. Even the president is not a member. We are no longer members of the APC, we have to get our papers back”. The former minister criticized the decision to set up interim committees, saying “you will not wake up today because your house is leaking and you brought a catapult to demolish the house with the thinking that you will build a new house. Meanwhile, he said he was a former APC member because he is waiting for the door to be reopened for him to enter again.
