MAAUN mourns Veteran Actress, Daso, Condoles with family 

The President and Founder of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has expressed deep shock over the sudden demise of veteran actress Saratu Gidado popularly known as Daso. 

Aged 56, Daso passed away on Tuesday, 9th April, 2024, following a brief illness and had been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

In a condolence message on Wednesday to the family, and issued to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday, Prof. Gwarzo described the deceased as a disciplined, humble and religious person.

According to him, the Kannywood film industry has lost a veteran actress and a philanthropist who made immense contributions to the industry.

Prof. Gwarzo noted that the death of Daso was a great loss not only to her family and relatives, but to the entire Kannywood film industry.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive all her shortcomings and grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdaus.

“On behalf of the Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria and Niger, I wish to extend our condolences to the family of the deceased.

“May the Almighty Allah give her family and the industry the fortitude to bear the great loss,” Prof. Gwarzo said.
