House of Reps Summon President Buhari over Degenerating Security in Nigeria
BY OBUTE JAMES
The House of Representatives on Tuesday invited President Muhamnadu Buhari to the National Assembly over the increasing level of insecurity.
DESERT HERALD reports that the resolution to invite Buhari was sequel to a motion by Hon. Satomi Ahmed (APC Borno State) lamenting on the way and manner Boko Haram terrorists killed over 40 rice farmers in Borno State last week end.
Earlier, there was commotion over the call on Buhari to appear in the House of Representatives to explain what his administration is doing to address the insecurity in the country.
While the House Leader, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa said there was no need of inviting Buhari to the National Assembly to explain the steps being taken to address the security challenges, several members of the House disagreed with him with a shout of no no no leading to rowdiness in the chamber.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila in order to control the rising tension asked that the House go into executive session.
After the executive session the House resolved that Buhari should be invited to brief the lawmakers on what his administration is doing on the security issues.
