 ADAMAWA IDPs TO RECEIVE SUCCOUR FROM NORTH-EAST DEVELOPMENT COMMISION
Adamawa State Governor, RT. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in camps in the state to remain law abiding. The Governor said  Government will continue to support them in the camps,  and is also working alongside the Federal Government on rebuilding and resettling them to their Communities within the shortest possible time.
 Fintiri said his Government is seriously concerned  about their plight as nobody ever wishes to be an IDP. He therefore  urged them to see their current predicament as an act of trial from God which will surely pass.
Governor Fintiri who was visibly touched at the deplorable situation under which the IDPs live promised to support the IDPs in the areas where  more dignifying facilities and schools for the young children of school age will be available.
The Governor made this made this declaration when he led a team of the  North-East development Commission (NEDC) which was in the State for an assessment of the State of IDP camps. He was also accompanied on this visit by his Deputy, Chief Crowther Seth, Secretary to the State Government, Engr. Abdullahi Bashir among other top Government functionaries.
Speaking earlier, leader of the team and Chairman of the Commission, Major General Paul Tarfa (Rtd) said his team was at the camps to ascertain the real state place and to also  to guide decisions on the commission’s interventions. The Commission announced the donation of food items to the camps so as to cater for immediate needs of the IDPs.
The team was at Malkohi and Fufore Camps where they met with an  approximate population of 3,000 IDPs.
