By umar usman Duguri.
Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri have every reason to thank God Almighty for the commendations and applause he is getting from and across Adamawa state so far, this is because the glaring evidences of commitment, steadfast and courage and developmental strides achieved that touches almost every house hold of Adamawa state in close to five years of gainful democracy despite paucity of funds and other known security challenges he inherited in the state. He without waste of time make it a history.
Until recently, when former friends and allies met one another as former speakers largely praised Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, for multiple successes and firmly believe in providing selfless service to humanity. This consolidate the numerous accolades to the Governor’s achievements in various socioeconomic sectors which was in tandem with the initial plan for the development of one of the oldest states in Nigeria that has record of civilization, maturation, development etc.
Governor Fintiri has already demystify and practically define governance as a center-piece of service to humanity and God. Hon Ahijo, from Lagos on his special “Seeing for Yourself” tour to Adamawa state to ascertain the level of progress made in the last five years.
According to Ibrahim Mada, I’ve travelled to many States in the north recently, what I saw and heard in Adamawa state about the leadership style of Governor Fintiri, convinced me that, Adamawa is in a hand of a Developer not a mediocre. Couple of days, students, parents, wards, educationists declare a ‘Day prayer session to thank God for choosing Governor Fintiri, whose love for education of the poor makes education accessible and cheap in the state as it is freely offered after general overhaul that sanitize the system against the deplorable condition inherited. Scholarships are giving to deserving indigene, adequate manpower were provided statewide, plus additional schools built to complement the global educational standard.
Urban and rural Electrification is an essential part of joy and life, the Fintiri administration reconnected Michika and Madpagali to the National grid after 6 years, Provision of electric transformers to 45 local communities in Adamawa under the Ministry of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, and Connected Toungo L.G to the National grid for the first time in 25 years.
Agriculture is another vital area that receives tremendous magic from the agrarian governor as lots have been achieved ranging from Procurement and sale of fertilizer to Adamawa State farmers at subsidized rate for 2020 farming season and similar adjustment to date, there was an approved issuance of ₦100Billion bond for Adamawa State Agribusiness Program (ADAS), which will surely boost IGR and create more employment opportunities for citizens, annual livestock vaccination to help animal rearers cushion livestock diseases in their animals and Provision of various farming tools for local farmers across the State.
Honestly, Adamawa state is now gaining its lost glory and being saved from head to ditch, another distraction from service delivery will turn back the hands of the clock and rob the state of the many gains of democracy that Governor Fintiri, battles to bequeath.
