As Gov El-Rufai rejects reconciliation, bandits kill father, son in Kaduna…In addition to another 23 people that were killed less than one week
Barely one week after 23 people were killed in five local government areas of Kaduna state and as Governor Nasir el-Rufai rejects reconciliation efforts of Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Gumi and vowed to continue the use of force even though it is very clear that the military did not have the capacity to stop incessant attacks, suspected bandits have invaded Baka village in Kaduna in Igabi local government council of Kaduna and killed a man and his son.
The deceased man, Sanusi Musa and his son were said to have resisted attempts by the bandits to kidnap them after they stormed their compound.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan has confirmed the incident. Mr. Aruwan was appointed into the sensitive position without any prior experience or knowledge on security related issues. His appointment DESERT HERALD can report is based on his closeness with the Kaduna state governor.
Aruwan said the bandits invaded Baka village in the early hours of Saturday and attacked the residence of the victims, whereby, they started shooting sporadically.
He explained that the bandits, in an attempt to kidnap one Sanusi Musa, who is a farmer in the village, after gaining access into his compound, shot both the man and his son to death.
Meanwhile, a helpless Governor Nasir El-Rufai has expressed sadness over the attacks and condoled the family of the slain father and son, while offering prayers for the repose of their souls.
There is still no word from Mr. El-Rufai about government’s preparedness or capacity to stop attacks especially to the largely vulnerable communities of his state and makes many the wonder about the reasoning not to negotiate peace deal in an environment that is vulnerable to attacks and with his government clearly incapacitated to stop the rampant killings and kidnappings. …With additional Report from The Nation
