FG’s zero tolerance to role of law is drifting Nigeria to a state of disorder

Alhaji Balarabe Musa, former Governor of Kaduna State, has declared that the country was drifting to a state of disorder due to Federal Government’s zero tolerance to rule of law.

The elder statesman, who spoke to our correspondent at the weekend, condemned the arrest and continued detention of the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, over alleged plan to hold protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidency.

Balarabe also criticised President Buhari’s zero tolerance to rule of law, which, he said, has taken the country backward.

He said, “We aren’t currently in a bureaucratic anarchy in Nigeria. We are in a situation where there is no law and order.

“The country’s leadership doesn’t have regard to court orders; they choose which court orders to obey and which one to ignore. This is dangerous to our democracy.”

He added that the Federal Government must stop the harassment and intimidation of dissenting voices in the country.

“Arresting dissenting voices is sending message that this government hate criticism. We must not allow the country to get to a stage where citizens would be scared of the government which will lead to total authoritarian society,” he said.
