 Gov Matawalle congratulates Zamfara born Prof, hails his appointment as VC UDUS
Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has described the appointment of the Zamfara State Born Professor, Lawal Suleiman Bilbis as the Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto as timely and a pride to the entire people of the State.
The Governor said he was overwhelmed when he received the news of the emergence of the new Vice Chancellor of the UDUS which is the first time a Zamfara Indigene is occupying the post since the establishment of great university.
Governor Matawalle who expressed confidence in the tenure of Prof. Bilbis in bringing positive changes to the institution said the tenure will also inject new ideas that will develop the University, considering his track records of meritorious services to the university and the nation at large.
 Matawalle similarly extended his heartfelt congratulations to Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis and immensely thanked the Governing Council of the University over this milestone choice of a Zamfara man.
He added that the  University Community has made an excellent choice based on expertise, experience and talent. I trust that Lawal Bilbis will continue to work for the improvement of education.
He also wished the  son of the state a successful   and memorable leadership under God’s guidance and protection.
Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis was the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Federal University Birnin Kebbi and he was also a one time Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics of the Usman Danfodio University,Sokoto.
A Professor of Bio-Chemistry since 2002, Lawal Suleiman Bilbis is an Indigene of Bilbis Village area of Tsafe Local Government in Zamfara State.
