He told DESERT HERALD that there is large deposit of gold and other precious stones in the state and that the resources is being diverted in collaboration with some powerful people before the coming of his administration.
Governor Matawalle demonstrated his commitment to that effect when he paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Monday. The governor had during the visit presented gold bars and precious stones that were exclusively extracted from mining sites in Zamfara and urged the president to support the industry in his state.
President Buhari was excited by the discovery of large gold in Zamfara and the commitment of the governor in demonstrating transparency.
