Governor Yusuf Seeks Federal Support on Security, Infrastructure in Strategic Meeting with President Tinubu

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has held a strategic meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he presented the key priorities of his administration, with a strong emphasis on security, infrastructure development, and enhanced collaboration with the Federal Government.
The closed-door meeting, held in Abuja, provided Governor Yusuf the opportunity to brief the President on critical challenges and emerging opportunities in Kano State, particularly the growing security concerns in some local government areas. He drew the President’s attention to the recent tragic killing of a housewife and her children, underscoring the urgent need for decisive federal intervention to strengthen security operations and safeguard innocent lives.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the efforts of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps, noting its role in complementing conventional security agencies. He called for deeper collaboration between the state outfit and federal security institutions to improve intelligence sharing and operational effectiveness.
On development, the governor outlined Kano’s infrastructure agenda, with special focus on ongoing and proposed mega projects. He expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the Federal Government’s intervention on the Wujuwuju Road project, describing it as a critical step towards unlocking economic growth, boosting commercial activities, and creating employment opportunities for residents of the state.
The governor further appealed for sustained presidential support to fast-track federal projects in Kano and ensure the state benefits fully from national programmes and investments.
In response, President Tinubu assured Governor Yusuf of the Federal Government’s readiness to work closely with Kano State to address insecurity and promote sustainable development across the state.
