IGP Adamu ordered by FCT High Court to produce Mr. Mahdi Shehu in Court

The FCT High Court, presided over by Hon. Justice H. Mu’Azu has ordered Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police to produce Mr. Mahdi Shehu in Court on Wednesday, 9th December, 2020.
This order was granted by Justice Mu’azu on 4th December 2020 after listening to Mr. Mahdi’s Counsel – Mr. Madu Joe-Kyari Gadzama of J-K Gadzama LLP, Abuja who argued an application before the Court in this regard.
may be recalled that Mr. Mahdi Shehu was detained by the Police in Abuja on 25th November, 2020 and has since been held in custody by the Police in whose detention facility Mr. Mahdi was bitten by a huge venomous snake on 25th November, 2020.
The Court has also invited the IGP to show cause why Mr. Mahdi should not be released and the substantive fundamental rights application has been set down for hearing on 9th December, 2020.
