Latest: Buhari approves new name for Nigerian Prison Service

The amendment effectively changes the system to Nigerian Correctional Services.

With the amendment, prisoners who acquire skills within the prison system and start earning money would be required by law to remit one-third of his profit generated to the federal government coffers.

Senior Special Assitant to the President on National Assembly Matters, (Senator) Ita Enang who declined to comment on his alleged sack by his principal within the week, explained that the Act also reviews prison terms of inmates.
