Mosque crisis: Tijjaniyya followers threatens ABU Zaria

I have since wanted to write on this topic, but whenever I recall the upheaval surrounding the subject matter I fall into dam of awe, and I, finally, will leave with no choice than not to write.

My conscience keeps tormenting me, thrashing me a rivulets of lashes. I keep receiving a psychological punishment from my subconscious mind due to what my conscious mind threatens me not to do, despite its goodness.

 I later sat and thought, that: the bedrock of my living on earth is to worship Allah, and also; whoever feels sad for any other reason outside the stoppage of worshipping Allah, such person only perambulates. I also thought that Allah promises way-out to whomever fears Him. Hence I decide to write as follow not unconscious of the aftermath of this write-up.

As an activist, technocrat, social and political analyst, I genuinely observe the businesses going on in my university. Am not an MSSN official, I have never been one, rather I am an aluta fellow. But am a Muslim.

To hit the nail on the head. There has been an ongoing crisis between MSSN and one unrecognized body with the title Tijjaniyyah Muslim Students’ Association of Nigeria, popularly known and acronymed as TIMSAN.

 The body is an unrecognized body because the management had stated in its handbook and times without number through the mouths of the authority of the university in several events such as matriculation, orientation and the likes that the only recognized body of the Muslim students is the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria(MSSN).

Recently, I learnt that, before the previous Ramadan, a masjid in students hostel called ICSA/RAMAT MASJID had been closed due to incident ensued between the two aforementioned bodies. While TIMSAN came to say their wazifa at the mosque, the rest of muslim students disagreed arguing that the mosque is for Muslim students in toto irrespective of sect or creed. They further argued that if sectarian act will be allowed, very soon Izalah will have claim, Salafiyya may have claim and possibly Shi’ites.

The body of TIMSAN resorted to fighting the generality of Muslim students and tagging them as Izalah. Thanks to the leadership of MSSN, they came and pacified the students and promised to sort it out following all necessary and appropriate steps.

The issue was first taken to the Dean students’ affairs, who instead of him to stop the act, reason it being alien to the usual acts of all the masjids of the university, he ended up supporting them by stating that they should be given a portion of time to say their zhikri in the mosque. Despite his knowledge that it is not one of the primaries of building a masjid, he, being a professor of law, is also aware that their wazifa constitutes public nuisance. My conclusion to his approval therefore is the Hausa saying: akwai lauje cikin nadi.

The matter was further taken to the head of the university. The first thing he told the MSSN OFFICIALS was that “look at my face, it is devoid of beard, am not like my predecessor.” I wasn’t surprised when I heard this, I will rather say history has repeated itself. Remind him of what happened between him and the MSSN OFFICIALS OF KUST WUDIL when he was the vice-chancellor, am sure he will be able to relate.

Am very sure before you assumed offices you swore to be fair and just to all persons irrespective of religion, skin or tribe.

 Unfortunately, you clearly showed the public where you belong to.

Surprisingly, TIMSAN are getting support from all angles. Prof Okene, Gwadabe and co are defending these TIMSANITES the way mother defends its child. These Profs ignite their servile to provoke the Muslim Students.

 Presently, TIMSAN has declared war against MSSN. They have already taken over the Suleiman Hall Masjid. They have succeeded in making ICSA MOSQUE locked, a mosque locked for more than three months today. Today the Muslims hadn’t prayed for almost hundred days, and the management are showing nonchalant attitudes over the matter.

TIMSAN have now organized their programs to always coincide with MSSN programs, the typical of it is their programs that currently coincide with the JIHAD WEEK OF MSSN.

TIMSAN are now on the process of their taking over of other MSSN masjids. Recently, they took over Danfodio mosque. While the MSSN had appointed its imam, TIMSAN had appointed its. I have been told that there was a day fight ensued as to who would lead prayer. This resulted to tearing of the Secretary General of the MSSN clothes.

TIMSAN now have their university muqaddam who is like the university Ameer. They now have faculty muqaddam who is like the position of wakeel.

TIMSAN to MSSN is like the ZAKZAKY IMN to the government of Nigeria. TIMSAN, according to intelligent have, garnered a lot of arsenal, they are waiting orders from these Profs to launch war against the MSSN OFFICIAL. Everything has been strategized by them. They are just waiting for the right time.

TIMSAN have made a lot of pieces in media and all means of communication against MSSN which are devoid of weight and truth just to tarnish the good image of MSSN.

 The MSSN hadn’t made any rejoinder always thinking that responding will only inflame the fire of fitnah.

TIMSAN promise that 1977 movement must repeat itself. Just as Zakazakiy was expelled, they promise to be the reason for expelling of the Ameer, Secretary General and the likes, thinking that the Ameer and co will trigger people against them, so that mayhem will ensue, and so that those who ignited the flame of the fight will be recommended to be expelled.

However, when you put a cat at a room and make an attempt to kill it, it will be humble and matured and even show you that it is afraid of you. But when it retreats and begins to respond, you will now be the one to run away.

To vice chancellor professor Ibrahim Garba Riruwai, Dean students’ Affairs professor Yahaya Yunusa Bambale, professor Okene, Gwadabe and the likes, bear the following in your minds:

That the Muslim Students have been pushed to the wall and at any time they can retreat. TIMSAN Had expressly stated that no one can stop them. I have heard the other side also saying that no one can stop them. Am now afraid if a fight ensues, no one can stop them from annihilating your offices, the senate building and some other important facilities of the university. Am afraid if fight ensues it will lead to the closure of this great institution of learning. Am sure you wouldn’t like this to happen. Let me also remind you that if any student dies, as an activist, we will do whatever it takes to prove your negligence at court of law. We will make sure that you are brought to justice.

That also you are abusing your offices and you will have to explain it before God almighty on the day of resurrection.

That also you are all Muslims, the students are your children and amanah, and if you breach the Amanah, there  will be consequences.

Take note further, that 95% of students are waiting for an order from the leadership of the MSSN to launch war against this wayward group and the management.

Finally let me say before it is too late do the needful. It is my prayer that you will see my message with your minds not your bare eyes. It is also my prayer that before it is too late you will stop the revolution by banning TIMSAN outright or registering it and giving it its own premises for its own worships for I have never seen where one buys an acre of land and builds a house and someone will come overnight and drive you out of it and say he is the right person for the said property.
