Prof Gwarzo Mourns Emir of Gumel, Extols 46-Year Reign
The President of MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has expressed profound grief over the death of the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sani II, describing the late monarch as an exemplary custodian of tradition whose remarkable reign was defined by loyalty, service and an enduring bond with his subjects.
Gwarzo, in a condolence statement personally signed and issued to journalists, conveyed his sympathies to the government and people of Jigawa State, particularly the Gumel Emirate, following the passing of the revered traditional ruler.
He described the late Emir as a widely revered and immensely respected monarch who commanded the affection, confidence and loyalty of his people throughout his 46-year reign on the throne.
According to him, the depth of affection enjoyed by the late Emir over such an extended period was a compelling testament to his exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment to the welfare of his subjects and selfless dedication to the service of humanity.
“A leader who is loved this way by his people after more than 46 years on the throne says a lot about his good leadership, commitment and service to the people. This is worthy of emulation by all traditional rulers and those entrusted with positions of authority,” Gwarzo stated.
The university proprietor noted that the late monarch’s decades-long stewardship of the Gumel Emirate had left an indelible imprint on the traditional institution and the lives of the people he served.
“On behalf of myself and the entire MAAUN community, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the government and good people of Jigawa State, particularly the people of the Gumel Emirate, over the passing of the revered Emir,” he said.
Gwarzo prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, elevate his spiritual station and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
He further prayed Allah to grant the late Emir’s family, the Gumel Emirate and the entire people of Jigawa State the fortitude, strength and grace to endure the profound loss.
The MAAUN President also urged the people of the emirate to preserve the legacy of peace, unity, dignity and service associated with the late monarch as they mourn his departure.
