 Gov Bala Swears In Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen.

Barely twenty-fours to after the long awaited local Government election in Bauchi state, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed today presided over the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Chairmen of the twenty Local Government Areas of the state.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi, the Governor said their tenure is for a period of two years.

He congratulated them for winning the election and promised to give them the necessary support to enable them perform diligently.

Governor Bala said the conduct of the Local Government elections is part of his administration’s desire to deepen democracy and improving human capital development at the grassroots.

He enjoined them to support and work with the state government so as to ensure effective implementation of its policies and programmes and to tackle criminal activities in the state.

He challenged the elected Local Government Chairmen to respect traditional rulers and other key stakeholders at their respective areas and work with members of the State House of Assembly irrespective of their political differences.

Governor Bala used the opportunity to also sworn in the newly appointed Acting Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Aliyu Jibo and called on him to do his best for the service.

The inauguration ceremony had in attendance, His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela, Deputy Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honorable Dallami Ahmed Kawule, SSG, Chief of Staff, Government House Bauchi, Emirs of Bauchi, Katagum, Misau, Ningi and Dass among others.

With this political development, many citizens praised the Bala’s administration for keeping its words on stabilizing democracy for all as well as giving fair playing ground for existing parties to exercise their right.
