Gunmen Re-kidnap Pro. Adamu Zata , kills his Brother
Almost a year of securing his released, gunmen have once again kidnapped Professor Adamu Zata, an Academic Staff of the Modibbo Adama University of Yola, Adamawa state and killed one of his brother.
The kidnappers were said to have invaded the Professor’s residence at Unguwa Yungur, located at the headquarters of Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state around 2:00am and took him away as well murdered his brother.
A family source who confided the saddest news of his abduction to pressmen, said the kidnappers killed Suleiman Ibrahim, a 49 years old who visited his brother (Professor Zata), from the village.
Pro. Zata was sometimes abducted in October last year where his family reportedly paid a ransom of N2million before securing his released.
His residence is reportedly less than one kilometres away from the Police Divisional Station of his area.
This is coming about four weeks after some yet to be identified gunmen killed a popular businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Mohammed Sajoh Usman Wure Dole.
Confirming the incident, the Police spokesman of the state, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the incident took place at about 2:00am and that the Police Commissioner of the state has since deployed his men to the area in order to apprehend the perpetrators of the act.
While DSP Suleiman Nguroje added that the body of the victim’s brother has been taken to hospital for autopsy.
