By Tunde Bamigbade
Commercial vehicle owners have urged the Federal Government to urgently rehabilitate the deplorable Oyo-Ibadan Expressway before it gets to a state of disrepair.
DESERT HERALD correspondent who visited the ever busy route this week reports that motorists claimed that appeals had been made to the to Federal Road Maintenance Agency ( FERMA) to commence repair work on the road but the agency was yet to take action as at the time of this report.
Accidents have become a daily occurrence on the road where lives are lost.So we are appealing to the Federal Government to expedite action on the road.
There is no alternative road we can ply, because the Old-Ibadan road has been abandoned since the beginning of the new Expressway, due to its deplorable state too.
As a matter of urgency the Federal Government should also revisit the old Oyo-Ibadan road without any further delay to rehabilitate it. So that motorists can have alternative routes to get to their various destinations with ease one of the commercial motorists who craved anonymity posited.
