Zamfara Assembly suspends N4.9b Yari’s road project over poor execution

DESERT HERALD can confirm that the Zamfara State House of Assembly has announced the immediate suspension of Mada – Wonaka-Ruwan Baure road awarded by the immediate past administration in the state  over poor job execution.

This was made known by the Chairman House Committee on Works and Transport, Yusuf Muhammad Anka,  when the committee paid an unscheduled visit to the site of the project.

Alhaji Yusuf Anka expressed displeasure over the slow pace of the work three months after the contractors collected over N1 billion  mobilisation fee representing 40 percent of the contract sum.

He directed the contractors to appear before his committee immediately to explain  the delay and poor execution of the job.
