Zamfara: PDP’s Matawalle appoints Yari’s Dep, Wakkala to heads transition Committee

This paper can report that His Excellency Hon Bello Muhammad Matawalle the Governor-elect of Zamfara State has appointed an APC member and outgoing Gov Abdul’aziz Yari’s Deputy Governor, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala to head the just constituted Transition Committee. It would be recalled that Wakkala was the first APC member and incumbent deputy governor that hail the Supreme Court judgment that sacked all his party members including his boss, Yari from their hitherto ‘elected’ positions.

You may also recall that the chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Yakubu yesterday at a press conference after two day emergency meeting on the ruling of the Supreme Court that nullifies the vote scored by APC at just concluded general election in the Zamfara State, he announced that the PDP is now the winner of all the elections starting from Senate, Governorship, House of Reps to State Assembly being the second position in the election.

The chairman added that he will present Certificate of Return to all the winners on Monday 27th May 2019.

Pundits averred that Mr. Wakkala is already on his way out of the APC. Wakkala has severally complain that even as the deputy governor he doesn’t have access to Yari and that anytime the governor is on his usual foreign trips and even if there is emergency he as the deputy governor cannot reach Yari on phone.
