 After saving former Emir, Gov Matawalle appoints new Emir of Maru
Zamfara State government has appointed Alhaji Abubakar Gado Maigari as  the new emir of Maru emirate, following the removal of Alhaji Abubakar Cika Ibrahim.

Until his appointment, Alhaji Abubakar Gado was the senior district head of Maru East, in Maru Local Government Area of the state and also served as the secretary of the emirate for many years.

In the appointment letter signed by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, the new emir was appointed based on merit, as well as his experience.

The new emir was charged to discharge his duties diligently and work hard to maintain the existing peace in his domain.

It could be recalled that the former emir was removed last Friday, following his involvement in the armed banditry.
