A former head of state, Abdulsalami Abubakar, faults a trending reports on social media that claimed he is critically ill.
Abubakar says he is in Minna, his home town in Niger state, and not in any hospital in the UK as rumoured on social media
“Somebody just drew my attention to the reports, too, that I have been flown to London. It is not true. I am here in Minna and preparing to have my prayers,” he said.
Abubakar called on Nigerians to put their minds at rest, noting that there was no truth in the report concerning his health.
“Some people are really worried but there is no truth in the rumour. I am really grateful but they should put their minds at rest. Thanks be to Almighty God, I am hale and hearty,” he said.
In another news report, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reiterated his conviction that Nigeria has great hopes towards development as its success is key to Africa’s development.
Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement in Abuja, said that the vice president delivered the 8th convocation lecture of the Osun State University on Saturday, September 21, in Osogbo.
The vice president told the audience that there was hope that Nigeria would achieve its potential.
